EventYard is an events app for Nigeria. Find parties, concerts, hangouts and festivals in Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan and Enugu, book tickets in naira and get in with a QR code. Hosts use it to sell tickets or take free RSVPs, check guests in and get paid.

On the web at app.eventyard.africa, and you can browse what’s on at eventyard.africa. The iPhone and Android apps are in testing.

Yes. Sign in with a six-digit code sent to your email, or with Google or Apple. There’s no password to remember.

EventYard accounts are for people aged 18 and over. Some events set their own rules, so check the event’s details before you book.

Open Explore and choose This weekend. You can also filter by city, category and free events, or search for a venue or host. The city guides for Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan and Enugu list what’s coming up.

In naira, by card or bank transfer. For a transfer, you send the exact amount to a temporary account number before it expires, and your tickets are issued once the payment is confirmed.

On top of the ticket price, you pay the payment processing fee and the VAT on it, rounded up to the next whole naira. If the host passes on the EventYard fee, that’s included too. You see every fee before you pay.

Yes. Free tickets have no fees. Fill in any details the host asks for, confirm, and your tickets appear in My tickets.

In My tickets, at app.eventyard.africa/my-tickets or in the app. Each guest gets their own QR code, plus a manual code the door team can look up. Your tickets live in your account rather than your email.

Your tickets load from your account, so open My tickets before you arrive and keep your phone charged. If your QR code won’t load, the door team can find your ticket with its manual code.

No. Tickets can’t be transferred or resold on EventYard. If friends are coming, book their tickets in the same order. When the host asks for each guest’s details, you add them at checkout.

If the host cancels the event, every paid order is refunded automatically. You can’t request a refund for other reasons in the app. If your plans change, contact the host or email hello@eventyard.africa.

What you paid, minus the original payment processing fee. If you paid an EventYard fee, that comes back too.

Card payments go back to the original card. Money paid from your EventYard wallet goes back to your wallet. Bank transfers go to your EventYard wallet by default, or back to your bank account if you choose that in your refund preferences.

You can withdraw your wallet balance to your own bank account. When money reaches your bank depends on your bank.

Sales close, your tickets are marked cancelled and you get a notification in the app. Paid orders are refunded automatically, as above.

Sign in at app.eventyard.africa, choose Create an event, add the details, tickets and any questions for guests, then publish. Free events can go live straight away.

Free events are free to host. For paid events, buyers pay the payment processing fee at checkout, and you choose whether the EventYard fee comes out of your earnings or is added for buyers. Withdrawals to your bank have a small fee, shown before you confirm. See EventYard fees.

Not for free events. To sell paid tickets, verify a bank account in your name. Verifying your ID as well (NIN, BVN, driver’s licence, international passport or voter’s card) raises how much you can sell, and businesses can verify with a CAC number. No selfie needed.

Ticket sales go to your EventYard earnings, and you withdraw them to a Nigerian bank account in your name. Earnings become available after your event, once payments have settled, and verified hosts can withdraw part of them sooner. Your earnings screen shows what you can withdraw now.

Up to 20 ticket types per event, each with its own price, description and quantity. Set when sales open and close, pause sales whenever you like, and create promo codes for a percentage or fixed amount off, with limits on uses and dates. A promo code can also unlock a hidden ticket type.

Yes, up to 12: short answers, paragraphs or multiple choice. Ask the buyer once or ask every guest, and make phone numbers optional or required.

Yes. Turn on offline check-in for your event and prepare each door phone while it’s online, up to five phones. Offline scans sync when the connection comes back. Looking a guest up by their manual code needs internet.

Invite co-hosts and check-in staff by email. Co-hosts can edit the event, message guests and see the guest list, and check-in staff scan tickets at the door. Only you can cancel the event or change its fee settings.

Yes. Public events appear in Explore, unlisted events are only for people with the link, and private events need an access code that you share.

Yes. Every public or unlisted event gets its own page at yourlink.eventyard.africa, using your custom link, and you can style it with a template. It’s free.
